Custom Slide Serrations

Front, rear, top — straight or angled. CNC-machined to your spec so racking the slide works the same with wet hands, cold hands, or work gloves on. From $40 standalone, with discount bundles when added to an optic cut order.

Top Serrations

$40

Cut into the top of the slide. Knocks down glare from range lights and reflective optic faces. The cheapest visual upgrade you can make.

Front Serrations

$75

For overhand racking from the front of the slide. Faster from a holstered draw, better with wet or gloved hands. Standard on most modern duty pistols.

Rear Serrations

$75

The classic location. What your dominant hand uses for press-checks. We can deepen factory rears or add them where the slide ships smooth.

Bundle bonus: Adding serrations to an optic cut order? The bundled pricing in the order form is cheaper than ordering standalone. Front $45, rear $45, both for $75 when paired with a cut.

Straight vs. angled — pick a style

Both styles are the same price. The difference is feel and aesthetic. Straight serrations are perpendicular to the slide axis with even depth — the classic look on factory Glock, Sig, and 1911 slides. Angled serrations (typically 30°) lean forward, biased to catch your hand on a rearward racking motion.

Tactical and competition shooters tend to prefer angled because of the speed advantage on a fast slide rack. Carry shooters and traditional-look builds tend to prefer straight. We'll execute either to factory tolerances, no upcharge for either pattern.

Custom serrations — frequently asked questions

Front, rear, or top — what should I get?
Rear serrations ($75) are the most universal — they're what factory slides ship with and what your dominant hand uses for press-checks and chamber-checks. Front serrations ($75) help with overhand racking from the front of the slide, which is faster from a holstered draw and easier with wet or gloved hands. Top serrations ($40) reduce glare on the optic cut or rear sight under range lights and direct sun. Most serious shooters get all three for $150 total.
Straight or angled?
Straight serrations are the classic look — perpendicular to the slide axis, even depth, easy to grip. Angled (typically 30°) serrations have a slight forward bias that catches the hand naturally during a rearward stroke, making them feel more aggressive without sacrificing front-direction grip. Angled is more common on competition and duty builds; straight stays more popular for traditional carry. Both are the same price.
Will serrations affect my holster fit?
No. Serrations are cut into the existing slide profile without changing slide width or contour. Standard kydex and leather holsters that fit your factory slide will continue to fit. The only exception is custom-molded holsters that were thermoformed to match an extremely tight tolerance — even those usually re-form to the new texture after a few break-in draws.
Are these the same serrations as the optic-cut add-on?
Similar but priced differently. When you order an optic cut, you can add front and/or rear serrations for $45 each (or $75 for both) as a discounted bundle. Standalone serration pricing — $40 top, $75 front, $75 rear — applies when serrations are the only work you want done. If you're already ordering a cut, the bundled pricing in your order form will be cheaper than the standalone numbers above.
Do you Cerakote over the new serrations?
Not by default — the freshly-machined surface is left bright (raw) so you can see the work. If you want the slide refinished after serrations, add Cerakote in the same order: a one-color Cerakote is included free with any optic cut order, or available as an add-on to a serrations-only order at standard rates.
How long does serrations work take?
7 business days from receipt to ship-back. Same prepaid USPS label as our other services. Door-to-door averages 10–14 calendar days.
